Someone who has given up attraction to the senses has arrived at the sanctuary.

ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เราจักแสดงธรรมปริยายอันเป็นเหตุแห่งบุคคลผู้มีความเกษมจากโยคแก่เธอทั้งหลาย เธอทั้งหลายจงฟัง ก็ธรรมปริยายอันเป็นเหตุแห่งบุคคลผู้มีความเกษมจากโยคะเป็นไฉน ธรรมปริยายอันเป็นเหตุแห่งบุคคลผู้มีความเกษมจากโยคะนั้นคือ รูปที่จะพึงรู้แจ้งด้วยจักษุอันน่าปรารถนาน่าใคร่ น่าพอใจ เป็นที่รัก ชักให้ใคร่ ชวนให้กำหนัด อันตถาคตละได้แล้ว ถอนรากขึ้นหมดแล้ว ทำให้เป็นเหมือนตาลยอดด้วน ทำให้ไม่มี ไม่ให้เกิดขึ้นต่อไปเป็นธรรมดา ตถาคตได้บอกความเพียรที่ควรประกอบเพื่อละรูปเหล่านั้น เพราะเหตุนั้นตถาคตบัณฑิตจึงกล่าวว่า ผู้มีความเกษมจากโยคะ ฯลฯ ธรรมารมณ์ที่จะพึงรู้แจ้งด้วยใจ อันน่าปรารถนา น่าใคร่ น่าพอใจ เป็นที่รัก ชักให้ใคร่ชวนให้กำหนัด อันตถาคตละได้แล้ว ถอนรากขึ้นหมดแล้ว ทำให้เป็นเหมือนตาลยอดด้วน ทำไม่ให้มี ไม่ให้เกิดต่อไปเป็นธรรมดา ตถาคตได้บอกความเพียรที่ควรประกอบเพื่อละธรรมารมณ์เหล่านั้น เพราะเหตุนั้นตถาคตบัณฑิตจึงกล่าวว่าผู้มีความเกษมจากโยคะ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้แลธรรมปริยายอันเป็นเหตุแห่งบุคคลผู้มีความเกษมจากโยคะ ฯ

“Yogakkhemipariyāyaṁ vo, bhikkhave, dhammapariyāyaṁ desessāmi.
“Mendicants, I will teach you an exposition of the teaching, an explanation of one who has found sanctuary from the yoke.

And what is an exposition of the teaching, an explanation of one who has found sanctuary from the yoke?

Santi, bhikkhave, cakkhuviññeyyā rūpā iṭṭhā kantā manāpā piyarūpā kāmūpasaṁhitā rajanīyā.
There are sights known by the eye, which are likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing.

Te tathāgatassa pahīnā ucchinnamūlā tālāvatthukatā anabhāvaṅkatā āyatiṁ anuppādadhammā.
The Realized One has given these up, cut them off at the root, made them like a palm stump, and obliterated them, so they are unable to arise in the future.

Tesañca pahānāya akkhāsi yogaṁ, tasmā tathāgato ‘yogakkhemī’ti vuccati …pe…
He teaches yoking oneself to meditation for giving them up. That’s why the Realized One is called one who has found sanctuary from the yoke. …
