    “Apaṇṇakaṁ ṭhānameke,

    Some stand on a sure bet,

    Dutiyaṁ āhu takkikā;

    while sophists speak of a second way.

    Etadaññāya medhāvī,

    An intelligent person, knowing this,

  9. 2.4

    Taṁ gaṇhe yadapaṇṇakan”ti.

    would take up the sure bet.
