Impermanence, suffering, and not-self are natural laws discovered by the Buddha.
ฉบับหลวงอุปปาทสูตร
ข้อความไทยนี้คือ พระไตรปิฎกภาษาไทย ฉบับหลวง ซึ่งแปลจากพระไตรปิฎกบาลีคนละฉบับกับบาลีที่แสดงอยู่ด้านล่าง จึงไม่ได้เรียงตรงกันบรรทัดต่อบรรทัด — อ่านเป็นสำนวนแปลอิสระอีกฉบับหนึ่ง
ข้อ ๕๗๖ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เพราะตถาคตอุบัติขึ้นก็ตาม ไม่อุบัติขึ้นก็ตาม ธาตุนั้น คือ ความตั้งอยู่ตามธรรมดา ความเป็นไปตามธรรมดาก็คงตั้งอยู่อย่างนั้นเอง ตถาคตตรัสรู้ บรรลุ ธาตุนั้นว่า สังขารทั้งปวงไม่เที่ยงครั้นแล้วจึงบอก แสดง บัญญัติ แต่งตั้ง เปิดเผย จำแนก ทำให้เข้าใจง่ายว่าสังขารทั้งปวงไม่เที่ยง ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เพราะตถาคตอุบัติขึ้นก็ตาม ไม่ อุบัติขึ้นก็ตาม ธาตุนั้น คือ ความตั้งอยู่ตามธรรมดา ความเป็นไปตามธรรมดา ก็คงตั้งอยู่อย่าง
เล่ม ๒๐ · หน้า ๒๗๔นั้นเอง ตถาคตตรัสรู้ บรรลุธาตุนั้นว่า สังขารทั้งปวงเป็นทุกข์ ครั้นแล้วจึงบอก แสดง บัญญัติ แต่งตั้ง เปิดเผย จำแนก ทำให้เข้าใจง่ายว่า สังขารทั้งปวงเป็นทุกข์ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย
เพราะตถาคตอุบัติขึ้นก็ตาม ไม่อุบัติขึ้นก็ตามธาตุนั้น คือ ความตั้งอยู่ตามธรรมดา ความเป็น ไปตามธรรมดา ก็คงตั้งอยู่อย่างนั้นเอง ตถาคตตรัสรู้ บรรลุธาตุนั้นว่า ธรรมทั้งปวงเป็นอนัตตา ครั้นแล้วจึงบอก แสดง บัญญัติ แต่งตั้ง เปิดเผย จำแนก ทำให้เข้าใจง่ายว่า ธรรมทั้งปวง เป็นอนัตตา ฯ

“Uppādā vā, bhikkhave, tathāgatānaṁ anuppādā vā tathāgatānaṁ, ṭhitāva sā dhātu dhammaṭṭhitatā dhammaniyāmatā.
“Mendicants, whether Realized Ones arise or not, this law of nature persists, this regularity of natural principles, this surety of natural principles:

Sabbe saṅkhārā aniccā.
all conditions are impermanent.

Taṁ tathāgato abhisambujjhati abhisameti.
A Realized One awakens to this and comprehends it,

Abhisambujjhitvā abhisametvā ācikkhati deseti paññāpeti paṭṭhapeti vivarati vibhajati uttānīkaroti:
then he explains, teaches, asserts, establishes, clarifies, analyzes, and discloses it:
- 1.5
‘sabbe saṅkhārā aniccā’ti.
‘All conditions are impermanent.’
